Message Monday night Beijing time, market analysis firm Canalys just released figures show that the growth trend of Chinese smartphone market stagnation mobile phone china brand shipments for the first time fell in 2017.
According to Canalys, total Chinese mobile phone market shipments reached 459 million units in 2017, down 4% YoY, with Q4 shipments of 113 million units in particular, down from the same period a year ago 14%.
However, not all mobile phone manufacturers have been severely hit by the market saturation. Huawei shipped 24 million units in the last quarter of 2017, up 9%. For all we know that Huawei, which is the most competitive Chinese brand, ranks third in the global cell phone business just following behind Apple and Samsung. It is not just a well know mobile phone brand, it is also the world's second largest telecom equipment suppliers, its products and services sell to more than 100 countries. And Huawei is still expanding its business all over the world.
OPPO is a global electronics and technology service provider that delivers the latest and most exquisite mobile electronic devices in over 20 countries, including the United States, China, Australia and many countries throughout Europe, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Africa. OPPO is dedicated to delivering customers with the most extraordinary mobile experience through meticulous designs and smart technology. But Canalys figures show that it is gaining ground in other markets in Asia, while OPPO shipments in China are down 16%.
In addition, after the release of the iPhone X and iPhone 8 / Plus, Apple shipped in China in the fourth quarter reached 13 million units, surpassing millet ranked fourth.
Due to the gradual saturation of the domestic market, many made in china cell phones are beginning to look overseas. In particular, the markets of India and Indonesia have all become the targets of mobile phone manufacturer.
For the China brand smartphone, the United States is the most difficult market. For some time now, millet had been selling cellphone accessories in the U.S. market, but it has been hard for them to actually sell their smartphones in the U.S. market despite the public's willingness to formally enter the U.S. market.
Among all the China made mobile that want to enter the US market, Huawei is the one with the biggest moves, but it is also the one that has suffered the brunt. Due to the pressure from the U.S. government, AT & T, the second largest wireless operator in the United States, canceled the Huawei Mate 10 Pro consignment plan. There are rumors that Verizon may also cancel the cooperation with Huawei for the same reason.
Huawei plans to sell the Mate 10 Pro unlocked version of the cell phone in the United States and has found "Wonder Woman" actor Gal Gadot as the "chief experience officer." However, in order to successfully enter the U.S. market, cooperation with operators remains the best method.
