Trendsetter: Huawei P30 Pro vs Samsung S10

In 2019, Samsung had been the first to launch its new generation of flagship handset -- Samsung Galaxy S10 series. Recently, Huawei unveiled its new generation of the flagship device with a major upgrade to the phone’s camera -- Huawei P30 Pro series.

These two kinds of smartphone are selling like hot cakes in the Chinese market. Huawei P30 Pro vs Samsung S10 plus, who will be the trendsetter? Let’s look at the difference between P30 Pro and Galaxy S10.

Samsung Galaxy S10 plus uses the 6.4-inch screen in the dripping shape of Dynamic AMOLED with a high resolution of 3040x1440. It has a fingerprint sensor under the ultrasonic screen with the  processor of  Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 . It is in ceramic white or ceramic black, which sells for about $1,300.

Meanwhile, Huawei P30 Pro, which has a four-shot camera of over 40 million pixels, carries 7nm double-NPU artificial intelligence chip of Kirin 980 with a high ISO of over 40, 000.

Build and Design:

Huawei P30 Pro has a slim body of diamond-cutting design with a comfort grip. And it also has a well-designed frame. It has an extremely thin width on both sides and its width on the bottom edge is among one of the best rate iof Android smartphones. P30 Pro’s dripping-shape screen has a width of 6.64mm at the front, of 3.36 mm on its forehead and of 73.44mm on the whole. It weighs 192g, slightly heavier than Samsung s10.

Its delicately metal frame and double-glass design make it more attractive. In addition, the p30 pro’s using a hidden earpiece achieves a higher screen ratio.

Samsung S10+’s using AMOLED screen is much better than the LCD screen: AMOLED screen has three layers -- the AMOLED screen, touch panel and outer protective glass, where Samsung has been the expert for many years. Because of the self-illumination feature of OLED, uneven color or shadows won’t appear on the screen. And the missing of the surrounding pixels won’t affect the self-portrait.

Cameras:

Both of them applies  advanced camera device. Samsung S10 Plus has ranked first at both photography and portrait of DXO mark( a ranking for Image quality, which is well recognized home and abroad) this time. S10 Plus carries a five-shot camera， which prefers the ultra wide angle rather than a longer focal length, offering new ways of taking photos.

Anyway,  the ultra wide angle will be more widely used in daily life and having a more powerful effect.

Huawei P30 Pro, with a 1/1.7-inch super-sensitive sensor，a wholly new array for  color filter of  RYYB， reshapes the three-primary colors, and the amount of recording light  is increased by 40%. Pioneering a new dual-view recording function, it can simultaneously record panoramas and close-ups.

Hardware:

Samsung S10 Plus uses the processor of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. With a three-cluster structure of a super core, two functional cores and four efficient cores, Snapdragon 855 can run at the highest rate of 2.84 GHz, which provides strong power for the running of smartphone. There is no need to worry about its disk space.

Huawei P30 Pro carries a 7nm double-npu artificial intelligence chip of Kirin 980, which is the world's first Soc chip of mobile phone produced by 7nm technology. Processor of Kirin 980 integrates Mali-G76 GPU with the unique-designed GPU Turbo of Huawei, creating Cortex-A76 structure.

As for specific configurations, Samsung is offering the Galaxy S10 Plus in two variants: 128GB and 1TB. Both variants get 8GB of RAM. Huawei meanwhile is offering the P30 Pro with just one SKU: 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Without doubt, Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung S10 Plus both surprise us with their high quality and well design. It is hard to judge which one is better. Everyone has his own choice, but race of these two giants will continue. Let's look forward to the future with the leading of these two trendsetters.
