After pilot production of the product is completed, the phone will be on track for volume production. With 30-40 people in one production line, each line is capable of processing 1000 - 1500 units per day. The process of volume production includes these steps.
1Incoming Quality Control
Make sure all the smartphone parts are in good quality.
Deliver qualified parts to corresponding departments.
Normally manufacturers will upgrade motherboard before getting to next steps. However, in some cases when the software need to upgraded with battery, the software upgrade will be postponed until the final products are ready.
4PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly)
Parts including speakers, microphones, FPC, cameras, physical buttons, etc. will be welded and assembled.
5Semi-finished Product Test
This step will test the welded and assembled PCB with power source or battery connected, in order to minimize the possiblity of re-opening the finished phone for PCB replacement.
6Front & Back Cover Assembly
The semi-finished mobile phones will be added with front and back cover.
7Inspection of Cell Phone Body
Check if there is any scratch, broken screen, color error, assembly error in semi-finished mobile phones.
Screwing: Screw on the covers.
In this step, the manufacturers will perform a thorough test on the overal performace of the mobile phones, including the performance of speakers, microphone, LCD, cameras, buttons, touch screen, etc.
This test will focus on the phone’s performance of signal receptions and transmission.
10Labeling and IMEI Code Inserting
IMEI Code, the International Mobile Equipment Identity number, is a unique identification or serial number that all mobile phones and smartphones have.
Get final product cleaned and wrapped it with PE protective bag.
Check for any mistakes or defects in manufactured phones.
